Doubling Down: INDYCAR Announces Double Header Weekend At Iowa – Friday and Saturday Races, ARCA Stock Cars As Well

If you are an INDYCAR series fan, we’re thinking that you are going to want to get to Iowa this July to see something that you’ve never seen before. The series has announced that it will have a double-header weekend at the venue with INDYCAR events being run on Friday and Saturday along with ARCA stock car action as the undercard. While we’re not completely clear on the timing, it seems that the Saturday race will be a true night race and as we all know, everything is better under the lights, especially race cars.

INDYCAR becomes the latest racing series to announce innovative and perhaps long awaited series adjustments to their program. NASCAR has said that they plan on running races, all 36 of them in ways they never have with potential double headers, weekday events, and more. The NHRA has adjusted their schedule, changing the order of events, adding a two-day format to some races, and have said that their season will be comprised of 19 races instead of the 24 planned for the year.

The COVID-19 virus is supposed to peak in the USA over the next couple of weeks according to healthcare experts. We’ll see how many of the announced revisions to schedules stand up to the timeline of the germ that has thrown racing an unexpected chicane.
