I can’t claim that Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia is my favorite place in the world. I spent a hellacious night there working on the pit crew of a road racing car years ago during a 12 hour endurance race. Basically my favorite part of Summit Point that weekend was leaving Summit Point. There’s another guy in my corner now and he is the driver of the Corvette Z06 shown in this video. This poor bastard had the stars align in all the wrong ways and we get a front row seat due to the magic of in-car cameras.
Long story short, this fellow is making some decent steam down a straight at Summit Point during an event called Hyperfest and a deer bolts from nowhere and then becomes tenderized venison after nearly coming through the windshield of the Corvette driver’s car. The guy is clearly in shock for a few seconds after the impact as his hands come up over this face and stay there as the car rolls straight ahead and he is still braced for the impact that thankfully never came to his face.

Struck a doe that came out of nowhere about ten years ago with a ’94 Towncar. She sailed over the hood and impacted where the windshield meets the roof, the force of which tore the poor animal in two and emptied her innards all over the inside of my car. I can still smell it.
we once had a big kangaroo (a red, would have stood taller than 6 ft) come thru the windscreen on my mates fairlane on the Willochra Plain near the Flinders Ranges in South Australia – but it didn’t quite kill him. we all bailed out and left him to it as he kicked the living shit out of the car – totalled the dash, seats etc and took over an hour to die ( we didn’t have a gun to help him along) On the way back we stupidly left the windows up, got intense pressure in the car as we hit about 50 mph then the back window blew out..

This is not the 1st time I’ve seen video from Summit Point with deer incidents. VA and WV have a serious deer population problem. Damn things are like rabbits….
