There are some things that money does get right in the automotive world. Cars like this Roger Kaege Retro Porsche 911 called “The Joker” are examples of what a legit budget can get you. We’re not saying that money is the end all, be-all, but we are saying that when you are able to pay a true craftsman someone on the order of Kaege, you are going to get something awesome.
In this case it is a Porsche 993 that has been given a retro treatment to 911 looks through the extensive use of custom carbon fiber body panels. But this car is so much more. Everything used on the machine is Porsche, just parts and pieces from slightly different eras to give the finished product the custom flair that the owner wants.
In the case of the Hong Kong businessman here, it was inspired by the look of a Batman comic book. We’re not sure we have ever seen a Joker themed anything pulled off with this level of artistry and class, but wow, this car has it all happening.
We enjoy the profile of the car, the understanding of the owner’s passion for it, and mostly the glimpse into driving in Hong Kong, a place where you don’t have a car unless you are very wealthy and if you do have one, you pay dearly for it.
There are several famed outlets that produce custom Porsches. You have Singer, Kaege, Magnus Walker, Rod Emory, and others out there. They are all interesting and each one has their own signature. This car speaks for itself. As always, Petrolicious shoots this in its brilliantly beautiful cinematic style and we’re in awe.
Backdates sure look awesome now. I wonder if one day we look back at these like Turbo look conversions? Why would someone do that? time will tell.
