Oak Tree Grand Prix Action Photos: TUDOR Series Cars Ripping Around The Classic Course

Oak Tree Grand Prix Action Photos: TUDOR Series Cars Ripping Around The Classic Course

(Photos by David Whealon) – The yearly “Oak Tree Grand Prix” at Virginia International Raceway is a heck of an event. Our man David Whealon was there this year with his picture taking machine and he really let the lens fly when the Tudor cars were on the course. These are the production based racers that range from BMWs to Corvettes and they are all vying for the same championship. We think the cars looks really mean with their flared fenders, huge wheels, and added race equipment.

Whealon reports that the field was reduced this year as less than 20 of the heavy duty cars made the trip to the race but as it was but one of several different races and classes being contested it did not detract much from the show. In fact, we have some specific Lamborghini racing stuff from this race coming in the near future that you are sure to dig as well.

High level road racing in the USA has kind of fallen into the same path as the open wheel stuff in the sense that it is fractured and has largely fallen out of the public spotlight. As anyone who attends one of these things can tell you, they are a riot and the show is top shelf. Get out there to see a race soon!
