(Photos by Scott Liggett) – For the last few days we have been taking you around the 2018 Omaha Autorama, a tradition that has been happening in the Omaha, Nebraska area for more than 60 years. This is a hot rod show that has been going on since the days of hot rod being a pejorative term that was used to create sensational headlines in newspapers and make campy movies.
Hot rods were a menace to society and a sign of the decline of western civilization 60 years ago and events like the Autorama was instrumental in turning public opinion on the hobby of modifying cars into something positive. These days, a hot rod show is anything but a bunch of ruffians, in fact if you were to total the amount of money invested in the cars and trucks we have showed you in this gallery…well don’t do that. The point is, hot rodding has come full circle and the turn started decades and decades ago with car shows like this one in Omaha.
That’s a lot of sweet rides! And inside the van with the Kiss memorabilia, there is a sticker below the PBR one that looks like Norton, but look close, it says:
Reverend Horton Heat; that aint church,
That’s ROCK and ROLL!!!
