(Photos by Mike Mendenhall and Amanda McCarthy) – It was a fun weekend for everyone involved at the 2014 American Street Car Series Return To Music City which was held at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee. The event followed a pretty well established format for pro touring competition in the fact that it included an autocross, road course, speed stop, and all of the traditional events which have become so popular for the pro touring crowd to use as ways to both test themselves and their cars in a racing setting. We think that those events do a really good job of both challenging the drivers and the cars because they are technical in some respects and require a machine capable of doing what it is being told to do while getting hammered hard.

As it turns out, RideTech’s Bret Voelkel really had a great time at the event, winning the autocross portion, placing fourth in the speed stop, and runnering up in the road course portion of the event. When the points were tallied, Bret Voelkel was named the champion of the event and even cooler, his autocross win netted him an invite to the Goodguys Autocross shootout in Scottsdale this fall. That’s a heck of a weekend and a hack of a way to earn a spot in one of the most intense and talent laden autocross fields in the known universe.

Obviously there were a ton of cars and trucks at the event having a ball and being used to their limit.
