RideTech’s hallmark has always been recognizing an emerging market and introducing great parts that can be installed by the home wrenching enthusiast to make their vehicles better. The GMT400 (1988-1998) truck platform is the newest one of these emerging red hot markets. Clean examples of the trucks can be found for easy money, leading many hot rodders to migrate their buying decisions from the escalating costs of 1973-1987 series trucks into this slightly newer chassis. If you are wanting to build one of these trucks to handle with the highest quality parts on the market and have the ability to do it at home, the new coil over system from RideTech is your jam.
This is a minimal cutting and zero welding install, so if you are not proficient with the metal glue gun, you are still in good shape. The real innovation here is a wishbone-link rear design that is a massive upgrade over the standard leaf spring setup that was used on these trucks. The three-link style suspension allows the rear axle to do things in a performance sense that these trucks would never accomplish otherwise.
Up front the company’s patented StrongArms handle the load and when the entire system is depending on the company’s coil overs, you are going to have a truck that sits right and handles great.
