The first generation Ford Bronco is one of the most iconic American vehicles of the last 100 years. Short, fairly narrow, and very capable in virtually all settings, it was a nice evolutionary step in the SUV genre and they command big dollars now. We found this particular Bronco for sale on eBay amidst a sea of stock height and taller rigs that had beeb modified to swallow off road trails in a single bound. This one has been modified with a Mustang II front suspension and all manner of street machine touches to make it a cruiser rather than a rock basher. Is that wrong?
Obviously there is precedent in making the Bronco more of an asphalt buster than a trail runner as the late Doug Nash did so famously with his Bronco Buster nitro burning funny car version in the late 1960s. We have seen pro street Broncos done as well but this is one of the first that has been done in a pretty upscale street machine style. Sporting the half roof on it you now have the option of putting stuff in the stubby little bed, there is a very mild looking little 302 under the hood and there is a manual transmission behind that engine.
It seems like a nice little truck to go running down the road in but we’re thinking that if we got hold of it, gone would be the rear leaf springs and we’d go through that front suspension to really make it handle. That would also require a seating upgrade to ditch the support-free low back buckets in the cab.
We want to know if you dig the look and the treatment or if you think that a Bronco stripped of its 4wd is not a Bronco anymore at all!

The Chevy Blazer came with the 2WD option back then so seeing the Bronco in 2WD form looks killer!
That’s bad ass.
so nice to see a sweet slammed bronco not ruined by the installation of a small block chebby.
It just looks weird, sorry. I keep thinking of a Nash Rambler for some reason.
That looks pretty sweet…it would look even sweeter if it were a Scout! 🙂
I really dig that…
I like it! Thats what I want to do with one of my Nissan Patrols. It will have a 455 Buick fender well headers and I don’t know what else its just a dream right now.
Oh and to be clear I’m talking about a 60s type G60 Patrol. Not that anyone cares?
love it! maybe a lil more under the hood for proper 5 mph burnouts!
I have always wanted to build something similar, but with a coyote 5.0l. I think they look killer!
Love the Half Cab ! I’ve always wanted to Pro Street one.
I’m a big tire guy but this Pro Touring look comes in
second for sure. I’m with you Brian, change those seats to
something with a head rest and also go to an automatic
Over-drive. See Ya at the track,Flash.
*barf*
It’s different. This is what true hot rodding is all about. Build what you want. Not what the other guy wants you to have.
I kinda dig it. The top has slightly funky proportions, but kinda cool. Id do a couple little things different, mostly a healthy diet nfusion of power. Heres one with a Coyote I saw at the Des Moines Goodguys show.

It`s called, doing your thing, and the builder hit the nail on the head. This is a bad ass build
I don’t like it at all. I am not a big fan of the slammed look, anyway, but this one seems especially wrong.
