(Photos: SRTLife.com) – This is yet another example of why it does not pay to lose you mind at a car show. According to the staff at SRTLife.com, the very clean and nicely finished Impala showed all bashed up in the photo below got that way when the driver of an SRT Hellcat Challenger was messing around at high speed in a parking lot and lost control. Both cars look as though they may be write-offs, especially the Impala. We do not know how the insurance stuff works in CA and whether the guy would be able to buy the thing off the insurance company after the fact but it is in need of major repairs that likely start with the most basic structures the car is actually built upon.
The 4,400 SRT Hellcat was the “object in motion” in this equation and according to the report on SRTLife.com, the impact was so strong that it took the big Impala, which was parking and sitting still and sent it into three 360-degree spins before it came to a stop. That is a HUGE impact and people on the scene apparently thought the car was going some 80-100 mph when it came into contact with the Impy. The story also concludes saying that the driver of the Challenger was arrested at the scene.
Everyone can have a bad day behind the wheel but when that bad day is self-inflicted and involves wrecking another man’s pride and joy we feel more sickened than sympathetic. Hit the link below for the full story and tons of photos. It is rough!

It’s stupid stuff like this that bothers me most of all. I can’t blame someone who hit a patch of black ice, spun out and took another car with them or anything else along those lines; but when jackasses being jackasses gets people and property hurt out of the blue for no reason, it makes me want to never finish my project truck and ride public transit forever.
The Hellcat driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. Asshole.
Jesus…. somebody needs a good kicking. I once saw a GT Falcon run into 2 Harleys at a swap meet. He wasn’t taken away in a police car. He was taken away in an ambulance, apparently in a critical condition with head injuries. PS he wasn’t injured in the crash – that came afterward. He came very close to taking out the family of one of the bike’s owners and knocked a pram over – no bub injuries thank god. When the police did arrive they (reluctantly) did not charge the bike owners – everyone at the show stood up for the bike owners and it was the near death of the baby that convinced the cop

I know the owner of the Biscayne. It was a 3 year, six figure restoration of the car he’s had since high school. Just finished it 3-4 weeks ago

another reason i dont want to get totally invested in a project
scares me to death just driving my ole ride around as is
and then to have to deal with insurance (and the dreaded increases later)
makes you wonder about investing into a project
but yes… it sure is fun

just 2 days ago in Australia we had some moron kid on a pocket bike take out a lady on a pedestrian crossing like 5 feet from a mall entrance – unfortunately the poor lady died shortly afterward. They caught the kid too..hope he doesn’t mind picking up soap if you get my drift…
I hope the SRT owner pays out the ass for his stupidity! I’m guessing the Imp owner should be getting ins money out of this but the SRT owner better reimburse him for any shorting by the ins company.

My 68 Cougar got hit by a Tahoe that did not stop for a light. The entire front of the car was pushed off to the side with both frame rails bent. To add to it, that was just a few miles after finishing an engine rebuild. I know the feeling of having a car with a lot of time and feelings being hit. I definitely feel for this guy.
