(By Tom Lohnes) – After 12 years, countless redesigns and special edition, and record numbers sold for a V12 Lamborghini, the Aventador is getting the sendoff it deserves. Meet the 2022 Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae, the final Aventador.

Using a 769-hp all-motor V12 as its powerplant, this Aventador is the most powerful gas Lamborghini to date. This is also the last V12 Lamborghini is producing without some form of electric assistance. After all those years the Aventador still stuck with the flawed single-clutch automated manual gearbox, and it stays in the Ultimae. Some of the aero from the track-monster SVJ has been sprinkled in throughout the Ultimae, but not too much to ruin its clean look.

The end of the Aventador is a sad thing that has been dragged on way longer than it should have. The big Lambo should’ve died in 2016 with the SV model, but VW group’s Dieselgate financial troubles put a stop to that. But, the end of the line is 2022. Although not the best V12 Lamborghini ever, it will be remembered as the last raging bull with a pure, unassisted 12-cylinder masterpiece of an engine. Goodbye, Aventador, it’s been fun.
