The Most 1990s Car In The World Is For Sale On eBay Right Now – A 1960 Edsel Sedan Delivery?!

It was motorcycle land speed racer Brendan Malone who tipped us off to what he called the most 1980s wagon on Earth. We think this one has an early 1990s vibe happening but either way, it is looking as aged as week old meatloaf right about now. The car itself is a 1960 Edsel sedan delivery. We don’t think Edsel ever made a sedan delivery so the thing is really kind of interesting from the body point of view. Supposedly built be a wheelchair bound hot rodder who used the thing as a canvas for his skills, the Edsel must have been an absolute and utter jaw dropper when it hit the scene more than 20 years ago. There’s a sign giving some stats on the paint job and it claims that there are nine gallons of clear on it!

Even the frame itself is pretty crazy as the seller thinks that it is a full size Ford with an Edsel Ranger front clip and an Edsel Villager rear to make the “sedan delivery” look work. The MEL big block in the car is the “right” engine and it’s basically a stocker. The wheels are boy band with frosted tips era correct, and the interior has all of the 1990s flare you’d expect to boot.

Obviously a car like this is era-specific and in a few years, this thing will be as retro bad ass as it comes. The 80s stuff is hot right now because all of the 80s guys are closing in on their 40s and they have some bucks to spend on making the cars they could not afford in school. The 1990s look will follow.

It’ll take a few years but this big bastard should age like wine.

WOW, even if it was free, it would cost thirty to fifty grand to UNDO all the wrongs 🙁

1 day ten hours remaining on auction, no bids, that might be a clue:):)

That’s not the first time its been listed either. I’ve been seeing it for a month or so now, but who knows how long it has actually been up on the block. The starting bid has gradually crept down (slightly) but each time I have seen it there never have been any bids.

Car vin decodes as a 1960 Edsel Ranger 2 door sedan with a 223 6 cyl. engine that was built in Louisville Kentucky. That is what it started out as and some where along the line somebody put a ’60 Ford Ranch Wagon roof on it, pulled the six and installed a FE (not a MEL) into it. Now you know the rest of the story. Goood Day.

    That paint job is amazing!

It actually hides this stinking pile of shit from the eye – and has got to be worth at least $10 on its own…

I like it. I would paint it just plain red with a white roof, some steel wheels & dog dishes & call it a day. Under hood looks good, I could even live with the interior and I don’t think it is over priced.
