Because 2020 has made everything weird and strange, Goodwood is no different. Instead of running up the hill as has been the tradition, the performance aspects of the event were moved to the Goodwood Motor Circuit road course and handled there. For instance, the timed shootout was done, for the first time on the road course and while it lacked a few of the twists and turns of the driveway the competition is usually on, it still brought out some amazing cars and drivers.
This video is going to show the six quickest laps made in the timed shootout and it’s a fun mix of cars from different genres and eras of motorsport from yesterday and today. From the modern machines that do battle at places like Le Mans to the historic F1 cars that both look and sound amazing, these six cars really have a little something for everyone.
What’s the neatest thing to us is that this is more proof that physics just cannot be overcome totally by technology. Why? If they could a couple of the new cars would not be looking at the backside of a 1970s Formula One ripper across the finish line!
Racing without noise is not racing.
