This 1966 Chrysler Town And Country Wagon Is As Factory Fresh As The Day It Left The Plant

This 1966 Chrysler Town And Country Wagon Is As Factory Fresh As The Day It Left The Plant

This 1966 Chrysler Town and Country wagon is for sale on eBay right now and whether you like Mopars or not, you’ve gotta appreciate this thing. The man selling it is only the second owner since the car was new and he claims that he did not have to do much other than charging up the AC after he took the reigns to make it right again. That means (at least we think it means) that the car you are looking at here is original paint, chrome, interior, and engine. If so, it is likely the nicest factory surviving 1966 Chrysler Town and Country station wagon in the known universe.

in 1965 Chrysler models got a significant redesign by the company’s new head of styling Elwood Engel. He was a Ford designer in the early 1960s and some of those Ford ideas can be seen in these cars with the really long and crisp straight lines, the tall roofs, and overall squarish appearance. This car has a 383 under the hood and we think it is the 383 4bbl engine but we’d need a true Mopar-file to tell us that but looking at the air cleaner seems to indicate that there is a 4bbl carb under there.

The car is equipped with the optional bucket seats up front. The interior in this wagon was virtually the same as the Newport trim level cars available elsewhere in the Chrysler lineup. The buckets are a near upgrade to the car and we think they really class up the beautiful interior of this big wagon. The current owner upgraded the wheel and tire package on the car and kept the stock steel wheels and hub cabs so if you want to put them back on you can.

Kids today know the Town and Country name from the Chrysler mini-van lineup which has used it since the late 1980s. Right up through the K-car days, the Town and Country was always the de facto name for the only wagon that the Chrysler brand of cars offered. So if your kid sees this and says, “just like the mini-van” don’t blame him because it is likely all he’s known growing up.

This thing is absolutely pristine and if you are looking for the nicest and most interesting wagon for sale on eBay right now, you have found it here!

Nice car….you could have stopped before “I am an Oxford educated motorhead”. WTF?

  2. 75Duster

Nice wagon, however I don’t need to know where you got your college education from.

  3. George Warren

It is a requirement for every Oxford graduate to work into every conversation to let you know that they went to Oxford. Awesome wagon though!

I’d set aside the factory parts and put in a 440 with self-learning EFI, bolt on a Gear Vendors and install some airbags.

For an “Oxford-educated motorhead” you’ve gotten “it’s”, meaning “it is” and “its” meaning “definitive article possessive” mixed up pretty thoroughly, there seller. I’ll forgive you since you’re in Florida, and folks are not actually human down in the swamps, just imitating human behavior.

If I were a rich man I’d add and aftermarket intake, heads, cam and carb, gears torque converter, long tubes and a nice dual exhaust system then cruise the ever loving shit out of it

I was right on the borderline there until he added he had also owned a 69 Charger and an 83 Trans Am in High School. Without that kind of background I could never make a buying decision.

regardless of the seller’s idiosyncrasies that is the cleanest wagon I have ever seen hands down.

That is a beauty, and in my favorate color of green. I’d roll it just the way it is. No wait that thing is screaming for a HELLCAT power plant!!!
