This 1969 Plymouth Belvedere, Road Runner, and GTX Sales Trainer Video Rules

Trippy, weird, informative, and fun. Those are the words we would use to describe this 1969 Plymouth training video that was distributed to dealers across the country for them to show their sales staff so that they could be prepared to hawk the next year’s models as soon as they became available. Lots of the time is spend talking about the performance variants to the lineup. That is one of the things that makes this a neat watch. Originally set up as a film strip, you’ll see fixed images while the narrator talks to the scenes and gives all the info.

Perhaps our favorite part of the whole video is the excitement over the talk about the new for ’69 “Mod” option. This was a wild homage to the times and essentially it was a flowered interior and roof covering that was available. Knowing how rare they would be today we’d jump back in time and buy a couple to stash away. Only about 2800 cars were made with the mod tops and the majority were Plymouths. Who knew?!

Lastly, the talk about axle ratios, suspensions, and options like the air grabber are super cool. You do not have to be a Chrysler guys to dig this video. If you dig the muscle car era, this is totally your jam.
