Watching This Big Block Chevy Powered Tractor Puller Drag The Sled On Asphalt With Slicks Is Awesome

As gearheads we have a lot of those, “I wonder what you happen if…” scenarios that run through our heads. Lots of us have wondered aloud what would happen with a big pulling tractor on the drag strip with slicks (nothing good) or maybe what would happen if a puller got put on drag slicks and tried to pull the sled on pavement. Well this is probably the closest we’ll get to that last scenario even if it is on a slightly smaller scale. The tractor in this video is similar to a mini-rod but not quite exactly like one. Powered by a carbed big block Chev engine and pulling at some sort of street event the little beast sounds awesome and does a pretty good job with the sled!

We’re pretty sure that Mickey Thompson wouldn’t be too enthusiastic about the big load and the weight bearing down on those slicks but being that this is in a controlled environment and all the risks seems pretty low. We think that this could be a pretty popular spectator sport, especially if it were done with the big tractors. It would combine the screaming engines and tire smoke of drifting with the absolutely brutal strain of pulling and remove the need to prep and groom the course each time a new competitor comes up to hook. Sure, a five engine tractor spinning a five foot tall slick a couple hundreds of mph seems like it would give tire engineers chest pains but we’d sure as hell buy a ticket to watch!

Does this happen anywhere on a regular basis? We’d love to check out another asphalt pull if they ever occur on some sort of schedule or something. What do you think? BangShift approved?
