This 2015 Camaro Z/28 Has 255 Miles And A Pricetag Less Than $60,000 – Time To Buy?

When the 5th generation Camaro Z/28 was released, a couple of things happened. Firstly we realized just how serious  the engineers at GM were when developing this car because it is a true bad ass that has all kinds of crazy additions and deletions that are nearly unheard of on a production car. There was serious money thrown at developing this car into a trained killer and by all accounts it lived up to the hype. The original sticker on these was somewhere north of $70,000 and which us ham and egger hot rod guys crowd about it the rest of the world seemed to lap it up and Chevrolet sold them as quickly as they could pump the limited run of cars out. Now two years later we find one for sale on eBay, a car that has barely ever been driven and the price is down a bunch from list. But is $57,000 still too much?

We can think of a lot less cool stuff to spend $57,000 on especially when we’re talking about newer performance cars. The tradeoff here is that you lose the amenities that you’d be getting in a $57,000 Corvette but you gain all the bad ass. The 427 LS engine, the sticky tires, the aero stuff, the refined suspension, the lack of a radio, the suspension that punishes you for potholes and speed bumps, etc. In the end the question is one of balance and tradeoff. What are you willing to give up to get something else. That’s what every car is essentially, right?

So here’s the question. Is now the time to pounce on a very slightly used Z/28. Are we in the “lull” point of their value? Ultimately these cars are going to be worth a BUNCH and while that may not be for a few years or even a couple of decades, the hardest handling factory Camaro ever built (to this point) will surely have a strong collector market behind it, right?
