BangShifter Will Troyer sent us the tip on a vehicle that is so brilliantly simple and dangerous we’re pissed we didn’t dream it up ourselves. Having seen literally hundreds of snowmobiles drag race on asphalt over the years on a slick track and some caster wheels up front, it never occurred to us that you could slide an axle under it and replace the track with a wheel driven by a chain and a sprocket. The seller claims that the thing can likely do 70mph and we don’t doubt it but we do doubt your chances of survival on that rear tire at 70mph as it appears to be a tractor/golf cart piece.

The work on the front axle and “chassis” looks pretty good. We wonder how hard the thing is to steer at low speeds as you probably really have to give the handle bars some mustard to move the tires when sitting still or creeping along. The seller claims that the machine is a fully registered and street legal “motorcycle” in Michigan and with a 488cc two cylinder, two stroke engine under the hood we don’t doubt that it has the guts to keep up with traffic. Riding this thing in traffic would be flipping awesome to see people’s reactions if for no other reason. There’s lots more photos and info at the CL ad!
