The Ultimate Pro Touring Car Is A 1932 Ford Bodied Formula One Racer – Meet The F132

The Ultimate Pro Touring Car Is A 1932 Ford Bodied Formula One Racer – Meet The F132

I appreciate evolution, especially when it comes to cars and racing so I don’t like to skip to the end of stuff before we get there, but guys like Aaron Beck make that awfully hard to do. See, Beck is a thinking guy who saw right to the end of pro touring evolution. He thought up and conceptually designed the top of the pro touring food chain, which is a 1932 Ford bodied Formula One car. Seriously, what could possibly top this thing, especially because Beck sees it as being powered by a NASCAR engine and seating two. This is like Bret Voelkel’s previous whip, that awesome old ’33 coupe but taken to the most extreme end that it could be taken. As pure evil as it appears in black, the thing looks even more bat crap crazy when painted in the Marlboro F1 livery.

We know that the renderings below LOOK real, but trust us that there isn’t actually one of these driving around…yet. We say yet because there are old F1 cars out there that can be had and there are fabricators out there who can make stuff fit, and there are guys with more money than they know what to do with that could absolutely make what you see below come to life. All you need to do is catch up with Aaron Beck for the details and some of this other wild ideas, all of which can be seen at the link below the images at the bottom of the page.

So what do you think? Is this car as totally awesome as we think? Would there be anything on Mother Earth that could top this car in terms of performance on the autocross or road course? Is the NASCAR engine the right move? Revel in these images and then click the link for the full story on both the F132 and the man who conceived it.

Thanks to Chris Walker for the tip!

The concept ? Bats**t crazy insane … in the very best of ways .

In McLaren Marlboro colors though ? A bit of a travesty .

    So here’s hoping that ;

    1) They actually follow thru and build this moment of automotive mayhem ..

    …and

    2) Have the sense NOT to try and reference F1 * in any way shape or form with what promises to be the Ultimate American Hot Rod .. for the road … hopefully

    * or if they must reference F1 …. at least do so in the paint scheme/colors of the ONLY successful American F1 car . I’m referring of course to the Gurney Westlake Eagle MK1 T1G . Not only the one sole successful US F1 car …. but THE most beautiful F1 car in the sports entire history … bar none !!!

This is – likely – the first time I have ever wholly agreed with anything guitarslinger has written.

Someone needs to build this now! I’ve been drooling over these renderings since I saw them on Speedhunters. He also did an interesting shakotan-style Dodge Demon that I really liked, although it’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea.

I have to agree with the above posts >>>–> Holy Bat$#IT Sheepman!

Talk about a HECK of a street machine !!

I have to say that I agree with the idea that this is the Pro-Touring genre taken to the absolute end EXCEPT that it’s not street legal with that nose wing. Make the wings removable and I’ll have one in Jaguar Racing Green (metallic version of classic BRG) with naked carbon fiber wings please. I however wouldn’t do the NASCAR V8 but an Aurora or Chevy/Ilmor DOHC Indy V8 instead.

In reality the rear wing on the street is pretty useless as well … so best they make both removable .

As far as engine choices though . I’d go for either the supercharged V8 from the Ford GT .. or that supercharged monster motor from the Shelby SuperSnake myself . Keeping true to the overall Ford theme and all … 😉

It’d have to have more torque than the F1 motors but still have some of the screaming RPM potential. I’m thinking a turbocharged, four hayabusa headed V16. I’d also settle for a larger displacement copy of the BRM V16.

Great! But I bet Steve Darnell and the Welderup crew get there first!

Pro-rat touring – with an Industrial Injection diesel, old racing/engine parts as decoration and interior fittings topped of with a patina to kill for – that flicks my switch!
