Always Wanted A Tesla Model 3 Convertible That Didn’t Exist? Now It Does – Check This Thing Out

Always Wanted A Tesla Model 3 Convertible That Didn’t Exist? Now It Does – Check This Thing Out

(By Tom Lohnes) – Do you desperately need a Tesla convertible before you can drop $250,000 on a down payment for the Tesla Roadster? Well, we have you covered.

Newport Convertible Engineering, the company that brought us the 2020 Dodge Challenger Convertible conversion kit, has tackled a Model 3, giving it some “interesting” looks. If you didn’t know, the Tesla Model 3 is a compact electric Sedan. With it being electric, it produces a lot of torque. Being a now-roofless car, how does the Model 3 not flex every single time you touch the gas? It still uses the B-pillar, right in the middle of the car and keeping this element keeps the chassis stiff.

This design choice has not only been adopted by the Model 3, but also the Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible, a car with a fantastic reputation among all car enthusiasts. Now that we’ve explained the electric part, what about the sedan part? Well, NCE has just left all 4 doors there, which is a cool feature actually used by a cool car: The 1964 Lincoln Continental convertible.

Design wise, this makes no sense at all. But, if you have to go for more than a sunroof on your near $70,000 Tesla, this is currently your only choice.

With the top down it looks like a PT Loser convert that was sodomized by a Panamera. With the top up, it looks like a Murano convert that was sodomized by a Panamera with Ray Charles sewing up the soft top.
