When it comes to stuff that I have not yet done and really lament, Goodwood is literally at the top of the list. The event, the people, the cars, the mystique. It is all there and it is something that I truly have to experience for myself sooner rather than later. This video is even more reason as to why. You are about to take 10 awesome rides up the hill in 10 very different cars. You’ll be driven, on one of them by Mario freaking Andretti.
One of the things that excites me so greatly about Goodwood is not the fact that there’s a timed shootout and someone “wins”. That part is neat, but to see these historic cars running, driving, and honestly being hammered on the way that they were in the heyday of their mechanical careers is special. When you add in the fact that so many legit racers and legends attend the event each year, many simply because they want to, what more validation do you need?!
Until I am able to make it over to jolly ‘ol England, the videos will have to suffice. Thankfully these guys do a great job of getting us up close and personal with the action. Nothing beats being there, but being inside and on these machines as they take to the driveway is awesome.
