Hagerty Cadillac 365 Build: It Is Time For Final Assembly – Watch This Classic 365ci Cadillac V8 Get Screwed Together

It has been a fun process to see this really cool classic Cadillac engine get torn down, machined, and now put back into its beautiful final form. This has been a cool process because the engine is different than the typical “modern” V8 and frankly we had never seen one stripped bare and then reworked. There has been plenty of interesting mechanical repairs made along the way. The good news is that this installment has more of them to see. From the rebuilding of the fuel pump to the hand painting of the Cadillac script on the valve covers, this engine restoration has been thorough and informative from the first episode to this (second to) last one.

No, you will not see the engine light off here, that is being saved for the time lapse which is always the big payoff of these series but you will see it dressed and ready to fire. There’s the process of shimming the valve springs and other neat engine building details covered here as well, which makes this one definitely worth the price of admission as all the rest have been.

This was a thorough restoration of an engine which is now likely better than it was from the factory with the use of modern precision machine work and the detailed assembly process. Enjoy this engine building zen video!
