Craigslist Find: This 1962 W300 Dodge Power Wagon Is Big, Burly, and Just Rough Enough

Well I have to blame or thank my pal Alan Reinhart, voice of the NHRA for the tip on this big, rumbling 1962 W300 Dodge Power Wagon that’s currently for sale. The truck is what I would call “just rough enough” meaning that it shows loads of signs of use but it is not rotted to hell, falling apart, or such a basket case that it would require a pile of dough to make it truly good. This thing is like an old farm house with a solid foundation and some clapboards that need fixing along with an interior that needs a revamp.

These big Power Wagons are hard to come by, especially in this type of shape and I am kind of in love to be honest. The four wheel drive truck has big Dana axles (a 70 in the back), a bulletproof 318 engine in it (guessing a Poly?) with a claimed 1bbl carb which seems really weird. The interior shot and underhood shot prove that there’s no major rust happening with the truck as there are intact floors and the inner fenders look factory fresh.

The inside of the cab is pretty well used up but sliding a bench seat in from basically any truck made for the last 50 years fixes that and if you want to get really fancy you could clean up some wiring and slap some carpet in it. The asking price is less than $4,000 and there’s a HUGE part of me that wants to fly out, fork over the cash, and see if I can get this large barge back to the new Lohnes residence.

Hmmmmm….wonder if they know how tall it sits. It has to fit into the garage.
