By the time most of you read this blog item, the eBay auction for one of the most magnificently awesome truck and camper combos we have ever seen will be over. We’re wondering right now as we write this about 18 hours before the auction ends as to how much money it will fetch. Bidding is stalled right around $10,000 at this very second so that’ll give you an idea about how hard the sniping in the final moments of the auction will go when we see the sale, or no sale price. This is just one of those rigs that falls into that magical category of wonder that so few do. A truck and its accompanying camper that seem to have defied the clutches of father time, of miles, of abuse, and of the rot that normal kills this stuff. If you look quickly the whole thing looks brand new.
The camper and the 454 powered truck were bought at the same time. The truck runs and drives as it did when new, it has air conditioning (which needs fixing), a Turbo 400 transmission and according to the seller, the thing will roll down the highway at 70mph and not care about a damned thing.
The brakes have been redone, the engine has been topped with a more efficient intake manifold, headers have been added, and a COMP cam was plugged into the engine to give it a little more oomph. The wheels are powder coated and we’re thinking that the 454 sounds mighty fine barking through the Flowmasters.
The camper is starting to show its age a little according to the ad and the seller has not been gutsy enough to fire up the appliances in the old girl but we hope the new owner does.
This truck and camper combo are just so freaking awesome we cannot believe it!
Cool truck, my grandparents had a similar setup back in the early 70’s. I have to wonder how much of the truck might have been rotted when I see missing front fenderwells.
Is pro-camp the next fashion trend to fill the cover and pages of HRM?
Chill out Brian, it’s not THAT awesome.
Needs a Honda trail 110 mounted on the front bumper
Its a Chevy no big deal .It does have a big block .But you will have to rastle in a set of inner fenders in it. Why would someone take them out and not put them back? 10K ? not for me .Besides Mopars rule
