We Hate This Truck Because We Love It So Much – A Perfect 1980 Chevy 3+3 Dually With 30,000 Miles

We do think that it is possible to hate something because you love it too much and that is exactly the situation we find ourselves in with this perfect 1980 Chevy 3+3 dually with 30,000 miles on the clock. How is it possible that there’s something this nice and perfect left in the world from 1980?! Dually trucks were built to haul stuff, be worked to death, be run for hundreds thousands of miles down the highway, and run until the fenders fell off. Making this even more insane is the fact that it is a pretty “rare” 3+3 truck. Obviously anything to do with 1973-1987 GM trucks isn’t rare by the classical definition of the word but these crew cabs from the early 1980s are not growing on trees. We have said it a zillion times around here but the reality is that crew cab trucks were freaks and sold in small volume back then.

Kids today likely assume automatically that this truck has a diesel in it. Of course it has a 454 in it because diesels were not invented yet in 1980. Ok, that last sentence was to see if you were paying attention. The big block was the most burly and capable engine of its day and that went across the board. The diesel wars really did not kick off in earnest until the 1990s. This truck is a battleship of awesomeness and we’d gladly shell out the asking price of $19,900 if we had it.

Man we hate this thing…only because we love it.
