The Texas Early Day Tractor & Engine Association 47th Annual State Show Was Huge And Cool As Hell.

I often laugh at Lohnes about his infatuation with tractors and stuff. I do this because it is fun, not because I don’t like tractors and stuff. I’ve driven a ton of different tractors and machines since I was a kid, and had farmers in the family forever. So when I showed up at the Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association State Show yesterday it was way bigger than I thought it would be. Charles Wickam had said it was a huge show, and he certainly was right. He and I cruised around shooting photos, checking out engines and talking about which tractor we’d rather own. Surprisingly, the small block powered one wouldn’t be on my short list.

There were some really cool tractors in this show, and what was interesting about them was the differences in sizes. Some of the smallest tractors at the show are some of the coolest, and look so amazingly similar to their full size brethren. What struck me too was being able to see so many generations of tractors, but seeing so much similarity in all of them. And, the technology that they have on tractors, even those 100 years old, is cooler than you might think.
