RacingJunk: This Ford Is Rough And (Almost) Ready To Hook Up To The Sled Again – Just Add Power

Now this is BangShifty goodness! You are looking at a 1972 Ford truck that is set up to be a super stock class style pulling combatant. The truck has been beefed up in the suspension and frame, the cab has been stripped of all but the bare essentials, and its actually a pretty clean rig for something that seems to have lived its whole life in the New England region where it is currently being sold out of. We love the lettering on the back of the bed that reads, “Thank the Lord for the big block Ford”. We have to guess that this bad boy had at least 514ci of big Ford engine and likely 600+. This tough looking SOB with a screaming big block in it straining against the sled. That’s good stuff!

This truck has an asking price of $6,000 and for what’s coming here, we think that is pretty stout. Complete minus the engine and transmission, you are talking a reasonably stout driveline, all the weight hangers front and rear, fuel tank, clean cab, and decent tires. If one wanted they could “undo” the pulling modifications but we’re not sure that would be worth all the effort.

Trucks and vehicles like this one trip our trigger because these are the good and reasonable ways to get into motorsports, right? The roller needs and engine and transmission you can stuff together and after that the world’s your oyster.

RacingJunk: This 1972 Ford pulling truck just needs an engine and trans!
