This 1983 GMC C7000 4×4 Fire Engine Brush Truck Could Be The Ultimate Off-Road Machine

Every kid loves a fire truck. And everyone at some point has wished they could drive one. Well now is your chance, and this one could actually be turned into one hell of an off-road machine. We can see it being outfitted with a bit more suspension travel and some horsepower to become the ultimate off-road chase truck. Can you imagine hauling the mail through Baja with this? We can, and it makes us happy just thinking about it.

With a low mileage 427 under the hood, which we’re assuming is a tall deck truck block, we know there are plenty of improvements that can be made in the horsepower department. Front and rear axles are huge by ginormous so know they would be fine, but we think some link style suspension and air ride might be a nicer ride than the huge leaf springs that look more at home on a dump truck. We’d get rid of some of the tank and water system, but not all of it. Maybe shrink it down for some fun and then convert the extra space into fuel, tire, and tool storage. We think this thing could be a riot when all done. What do you think?
