City of Industry, CA – Wheel Vintiques is known in the street rod and muscle car world for its wide variety of
high-quality steel wheels, but the California-based wheel manufacturer also offers many options for classic
trucks from the 1950’s through the 1980’s. From OE reproductions to custom designs and sizing, Wheel
Vintiques has developed a huge product offering. This includes a newly re-tooled version of a classic truck
design, the GM Pickup Rallye, which is scheduled to be in stock this spring.
The 42 Series GM Pickup Rallye has been available in years past, but the center section was a core from an
original wheel. Wheel Vintiques would weld a new hoop onto the original center, and then powder coat it. This
made for a nice wheel with plenty of strength, but finding cores became increasingly difficult. In addition to the
scare materials, the process was not efficient. To solve this problem, National Sales and Marketing Manager,
Tim Kawasaki decided it would be best to fabricate new tooling to build the centers in-house. This would take
some time to develop, but the new tooling will keep the wheels in production on a steady schedule, rather than
waiting on batches of centers to arrive.
The new 42 Series GM Pickup Rallye product line consists of three sizes: 15×7, 15×8 and 15×10 inches. These
three sizes will be applied to two center designs—one with a 5×5-inch bolt pattern that features 16 rectangular
windows and one with a 6×5.5-inch bolt pattern with 10 larger rectangular windows. The five-lug wheel offers
direct fitment on any Chevrolet or GMC half-ton two-wheel drive truck from 1971 to 1998. The six-lug version
is a great choice for earlier C10’s with the 6×5.5-inch bolt pattern and they also work well on K10 four-wheel-
drive trucks and K5 Blazers from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Wheel Vintiques anticipates having the 10-window,
six-lug wheel in stock by April 1st, and the 16-window, five-lug wheels by May 1st.
From a quality standpoint, Wheel Vintiques products are second to none. All Wheel Vintiques wheels are made
right here in the USA. Precision tooling and a 600-ton hydraulic press makes for clean lines when the seven-
gauge hot-rolled steel center sections are stamped, and precise jigs make for a perfectly true wheel as the center
and hoop are robotically welded together. With heavy gauge steel and precision assembly, these wheels are
capable of supporting heavy loads. After the wheel is manufactured and welded, it goes through an automated
chemical wash cycle and then through the powder coating line for a factory-look silver powder coat finish.

what ever you do don’t buy the chrome hub caps from them. I bought the old time police replica caps in chrome, not stainless, and in 6 months and a day they started to rust. With in 60 days of that point 2 had almost all the chrome flake off and a rusty surface was left. Complete garbage.
