Big Dollar Fun Machine: The 2023 Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast Is Loaded With Options and Horsepower

(By Tom Lohnes) – Are you a millionaire farmhand with a love for beige? Well, That is a very niche group of people, but for some reason Ram now has a truck made just for you. Meet the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast edition.

First off, the Sandblast edition is quite literally your standard TRX with a few options and a respray. Much like the bright orange Ignition edition released for the 2022 model year, the Sandblast piles on the options on top of the standard $75,000-ish TRX, with a nicer interior, a sport bar behind the cab, and a few extra lights to really illuminate the chipotle parking lot. Under the hood of the Sandblast is the same 702-hp Hellcat V8 as before, with no anticipated power bump quite yet. Although it is the same beast, the TRX still is a monster. Rally champion Ken Block thinks so as well, as he was actually the one that let the news out about this new TRX.

Starting at $100,800, the TRX Sandblast is not a cheap truck. But for people with enough money or the knowledge of the 6,000-lb GVWR tax write off loophole, it would definitely be a cool daily driver to have especially with the new paint job. Inside, the TRX is still quite the luxurious truck, with heated and cooled seats, a massive center touchscreen, and an optional panoramic sunroof that pretty much hangs over the entire cab of the truck. The backseat is absolutely cavernous, and the baja-tuned suspension is a dream on the road with its soft spring rates. Just be cautious about fuel, because an average below 10mpg is to be expected with 700hp and 35-inch tires.

The TRX Sandblast will arrive at dealers this summer, and production will be limited, although we do not know the exact number.

Well…at least Exxon, Shell, BP, Chevron and Conoco executives will be able to afford to buy them. The rest of us, not so much. Wait for the left-overs at the end of the model year. There’s gonna be some big rebates.

Can our BS authors write an article about badge overkill? This truck is an example. I looked at the Mercedes GS and found 20 AMG badges on the outside alone starting with all four wheels and all four brake calipers.
