Stickin’ It To Them: Ford Announces Available Seven Speed Stick For Sasquatch Package Broncos – Crawler Gear Coolness

Stickin’ It To Them: Ford Announces Available Seven Speed Stick For Sasquatch Package Broncos – Crawler Gear Coolness

(By Tom Lohnes) – Recently if you wanted a Ford Bronco with the maximum capability of the optional Sasquatch package, you needed to have a 10-speed automatic no matter what. Now, after seeing orders for manual Broncos tower over the automatic ones, Ford has decided to capitalize on the manual and offer it on the Sasquatch package. It even comes with a crawler gear making it a seven speed manual.

Rivaling the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the Bronco Sasquatch has to be great. And one thing the Jeep does to be great is offer a stick, even if it’s not a very good one. Ford who already offers a manual Bronco, must have noticed the Jeep had one, so they made the manual fit on both engines: the 2.3-liter Turbo 4, and the 2.7-liter Twin-Turbo V6.

In other Bronco news, Ford has confirmed that a V8-powered Bronco to combat the 392 Wrangler will unfortunately never happen. That really leads me to think that Ford will not be putting a GT500 motor in a raptor, but who knows. There is a Bronco Raptor confirmed, but it will likely use some sort of hybrid system with their new Gen-II Ecoboost powertrains. Dream on, Ford fans, as a V8 bronco will likely never happen again unless you build it yourself and we know these things will be Coyote swapped six seconds after leaving the factory.

Sasquatch would prefer something stouter than a Fiat looking shift knob. A tree limb, a rock, maybe a fake rabbit skull.

the Universe will be a cold, ugly place of McSquatch isn’t the BS reporter in the field for the new Bronco.
