It’s Hummer Time: General Motors Has Unveiled The 2024 Model Year Hummer EV – Big Dimensions and Big Money

(By Tom Lohnes) – It’s 2021, as we all know so why is a proposed 2024 model-year car coming out in full production form? Ask, GM, as they have just unveiled the new Hummer EV SUV seemingly a little ahead of time.

With 1,000 horsepower, 11,500 lb-ft of torque, and an extra row to haul kids in, the GMC Hummer EV SUV is a slightly better way to spend 6 figures on a Hummer. Outside, the Hummer SUV takes the same cues as the truck, but in my opinion looks better. Finished in a nice-looking forest green paint job, the SUV shows off its rear end with a spare tire strapped to the back Jeep-style. Inside, the SUV is more spacious than the truck, with the enclosed cargo area to blame. The SUV still retains the removable roof, front trunk, and 350-mile range as the truck. Off-roading wise, the SUV tops the truck, with a tiny bit smaller proportions all-around, and the same technology. Also making an appearance is the truck’s WTF (Watts to Freedom) mode, which will propel this 3-ton beast to 60 in 3.0-seconds flat.

Starting at a large $89,995 for the base 2X with 625 horsepower, these things aren’t cheap. Upgrade to the 3X, and you get all 1,000 horses at the cost of paying $99,995 for it. The launch edition starts at $105,000, which is the price you have to pay for early access.

If Honda would have made a new version of the Element, it would have looked just like that.

11,500 lb-ft of torque. LMAO. More hyperbole from an EV manufacturer.
Still won’t be able to tow my race operation to the track and back. FACT.

Makes no sense at all for an EV. Weight and bad aero eats up range. I wonder how long it will be before we’re bailing them out again?
