Worth The Wait: Jeep Releases Images And Specs Of New Generation Grand Cherokee – Slick Looks, Amazing Interiors

(By Tom Lohnes) – After a year of waiting since the long-wheelbase Grand Cherokee L was revealed, Jeep has finally released info on the classic 2-row Grand Cherokee, and it is the same formula as the old model, just very much overhauled.

Sporting styling similar to the L, the new Grand Cherokee looks great regardless of the trim you choose (there’s 12). All models come standard with a 285-hp 3.6L V6 and some great features like a fully digital gauge cluster. It only gets better from there, with 4WD, a V8, and even a PHEV powertrain available, all while delivering Jeep’s new interior design that is no short of stunning.

There are no fast trims yet, but expect some news on that soon. If you want a more enthusiast-oriented Grand Cherokee, spring for the Trailhawk model, which comes standard with all sorts of off-road goodies, including quadra-lift air suspension which can give you over 11 inches of ground clearance when needed.

Likely starting around $30,000, the new Grand Cherokee is going to sell big, with its impressive equipment level and loyal fanbase. If it were me getting one, I would spring for the top-trim Summit reserve with that smooth Hemi V8 and 4WD. The configurator is live, so go spec yours.

Looks like the new Bronco. The new Bronco looks like a Ford Flex with a slightly different trim package.

Not even close to looking like the Bronco, the Bronco has round headlamps and is MUCH smaller

Any time an automaker unveils a newly redesigned vehicle, there always has to be people who say “It looks like a (insert any other brand here)”. If you go through enough of these sorts of comments, you’ll find they’ve referred to pretty much every other brand who makes a remotely similarly vehicle in that segment.

Yeah, it has 4 tires, 2 headlights, and is shaped like an SUV. If that means it looks like a Bronco, then sure I guess. But if you actually think they look the same or you have a hard time telling them apart, you either don’t follow these vehicles at all or you need your eyes checked.

Maybe I’m just really far more computer illiterate than even I imagine, as I went though the Jeep site to spec one, several models offer only the V6, and the hemi models only offered one interior choice- black. Anybody? Specifically, I was looking at a Limited with a hemi.
