(By Tom Lohnes) – The new Ram Rebel TRX is going to take the Ford Raptor by storm with 707 horsepower, Baja tuned suspension, and a high 3 second 0-60 time. Named TRX (an abbreviation for T-Rex) the Ram definitely knows its competition in the F-150 Raptor. The TRX takes the name a little further with the floor mat design as well, showing the truck, a T-Rex, and then a tiny little velociraptor underneath it.
It is confirmed the TRX is getting the full-bore tune on the Hellcat engine, an upgrade from the 536hp of the concept. From interior leaks, it appears the TRX is getting a console-mounted shifter instead of the rotary dial we’ve come to expect on all Ram trucks. What is really mind-boggling about this is the TRX will be the first truck to dethrone the GMC Syclone as the quickest and fastest truck. With an expected 3.8-second 0-60 time and 135 mile per hour top speed, the TRX is going to be insane.
How much will all this insanity cost? Probably about $90,000, like the Jeep Trackhawk. Is it worth it? I kinda think so.
Ask dad for an advance on your allowance….or mom!
Great time to be alive
Uh…… world’s fastest production pickup is currently held by a Dodge, the SRT10 Ram, not the Syclone.
A desert HELLCAT!!! Available at your dealership…….
Sorry I just lightheaded!
The only question I have is why it took so long for Chrysler or GM to come up with a Raptor fighter? They have been building them since 2010 (excepting 2015-16). Well over 100,000 sold.
A Hellcat powered TRX should automatically lead to a GT500 powered Raptor! Or……a supercharged version of the new 7.3 gas engine. What a great time to be alive!
Tom, you are doing a fine job on your articles. Keep up the good work.
