When one thinks of an “off-highway” performance tire, you’re likely seeing a drag racing slick in your head. What if we told you that Mickey Thompson has just released the off-road only version of that? They have. Called the Baja Pro X, this tire is not highway legal and it is not designed to be used on the street in any way. An ultra-aggressive tread, a very soft compound, huge side biters, and a tread pattern that can be carved and shaped to customize the owners needs. Yes, these are serous.
The Baja Pro X is is currently only available in size 43X14.50-17LT, with additional sizes planned in the future. Expect to see these things on trucks running in the desert, trucks running King of the Hammers, and lots more competition stuff in 2019!

He created “tread-on-the-sidewall” tires for traction and pulling power in extreme conditions. Today, Mickey Thompson’s off-road tires are developed and designed with uncompromising standards and deliver undisputed performance.
I’d be game to try them….
sand will eat a soft compound tire for lunch.
and 80-105mph sand blast, will kill them in short order. and no one has time for changing tires , flats, tires issues are a killer in this type racing.
I can’t see this working all that well.
