Dirthead Dave Is Getting His Mini Truck On With Hand Made Airbag Mounts on the rear of his Nissan Minitruck

Dave Chappelle, the one that can weld and build killer trucks of all kinds, not the funny one on TV, is our kind of dude. One day he’s working on his horribly ugly, but cool, bagged Mustang II, and the next he’s setting up suspension on a rock crawling rig of some kind. He’s a jack of all trades and often undersells his abilities and accomplishments. But he’s a great dude that we love seeing on his videos, at shows, and around the scene. And he’s a mini trucker! Yep, he has been building and driving minis for way longer than off-road rigs and like many of us he’s not given up the idea of building a new one to cruise and enjoy. So the truck that he’s working on now is one of his dream minis and it is going to be one rad ride when it is all done.

It’s a extended cab Nissan Hardbody and it is bagged, body dropped, and getting dangerously close to running and driving. And while the rear has been back halfed with an all rectangular tube frame, there hasn’t been any bag mounts in the rear to finish up the suspension. The tubular back half and three link suspension has been done for a while, as has the front suspension, but until now there have been no rear bag mounts or crossmember in place to mount everything to.

In this video here, Dave is going to fix that and he’s going to do it with tools and materials you can totally replicate at home.

Video Description:

It’s time to get moving on the Nissan! This thing is not finishing itself. On this episode of The Dirthead Shed I fabricate mounts for the rear air suspension. Using round tubing, plate, some Air Lift Dominator 2600 bags and a few leftover parts around the shop I get the bag mounts done. air it up and down , and confirm that its ready for the next steps.
