Junkyard Rescue: It’s The School Bus Edition With Newbern And The Gang, Will This Thing Run?

Junkyard Rescue: It’s The School Bus Edition With Newbern And The Gang, Will This Thing Run?

Newbern and the boys are back at it again and if you remember the last video involving his GMC Topkick then you’ll remember that there were some garage burnouts involved, plus a trip to a cool junkyard, and him making a deal on a bus because it had a Cummins in it. If you missed that one, use the link below to check it out. In this video the school bus is the target and they are going to be working to get it up and running so they can try to drive it back to the shop. What couldn’t possibly go wrong? I mean how hard can it be to make an old school bus run and drive?

Thankfully, Dave knows enough to be dangerous when it comes to diesels and has friends to apparently know more than that. The plan is to make it run and drive, get it to the shop, and then swap the engine and transmission into the Topkick. We approve. Check it out.

Video Description:

On this episode we go back to the junkyard to get a school bus that I purchased on a prior episode running. We then drive it from the junkyard to my buddies shop so we can start gutting it. We’re going to swap the engine and transmission into my 1992 GMC Top Kick. Big thanks to Chucks Auto Salvage for allowing us to film and hang out in the junkyard.

I think we need to figure out what the word “rescue” means. driving a car home to make it scrap isn’t, in my opinion, rescuing.

Let me use that in a sentence, I rescued a cow, it was delicious.

Much as I like Newbern I agree that these YouTube guys now seem to portray jump starting a vehicle as a massive archaeological undertaking barn find will it run abandoned omg event. And first wash videos? Don’t get me started.

They really are no more than clickbait now.
