This is not exactly what you’d call a “best of” video. Instead you’d call it a “bucks up” video because everyone featured in it had to lay down some seriously scratch (seemingly, anyway) to fix their junk after suffering calamities like are caught on film here. Seriously, you are going to see trucks and tractors from across the country and across the sport of pulling just barfing the guts out. Between failures, fire, and near wrecks the action does not relent or stop. Gas burners, diesel burners, alky burners, and they all have their tongues hanging out by the time your eyes are done with them.
The viciousness of pulling is lost on some people but not us. The fact remains that the trucks and tractors are really kind of in a race with themselves. You need to build up that head of steam and haul ass down the course before the weight box pulverizes you into submission. Because of that the engines and drivelines of these tractors and trucks are wound to the maximum of tightness when drivers come off the clutch and brake and begin to move the sled.
There are a few failures in here that just happen out of the blue and then there are others where you can hear the engine is kind of a hurting unit and you know the end is nigh for the power plant. If you have a diesel that just intermittently stops releasing smoke out of the exhaust keeping your foot to the floor is not going to make it any better but honestly, what are you supposed to do, give up?
