Puddin’s Fab Shop Builds A Quick Attach CRANE From A HARBOR FREIGHT Cherry Picker.

I own a flatbed truck and have owned a lot of pickup trucks over the years as well and on several occasions I have thought that owning a small crane or cherry picker for the back of the truck would be handy. When you have something heavy to lift, like an engine or transmission, and you are all by yourself it would sure be nice to be able to lift that thing up and swing it into the bed.

So when I saw that Puddin was putting together one for his Half Haul pickup, I had to check it out. I’ve thought about using a cherry picker or a small boom before, and that’s exactly where Puddin’s head is at on this project. He’s also making sure it can be attached and removed easily so that it doesn’t always have to live on the truck and this is an idea I don’t hate either. So let’s see how he does it and I bet it inspires you to build something similar for your ride.

I’m looking at this thing and have some ideas on how I’d modify his design for my particular truck and needs, but I can sure see how this thing would be handy!
