After we got done watching the video that you are about to see, we came to the realization that a machine shop is basically a mechanical spa when it comes to blocks, heads, rods, and other hard parts that make your junk run. From the sauna to the jacuzzi, the massage table, and more, the just look at the way the humble Jeep block enters the place and how it appears coming out the other side. It is refreshed, revitalized, and better than how it began. We don’t have lots of experience with people spas but they seem to advertise themselves as doing just that for us humanoids. But anyway…
This Redline Rebuild is different than many which have come before it in the sense that the engine is not that odd or rare, there have been no massive discoveries of problems or inherent flaws yet, and the thing is going largely back together as a stocker, with some tweaks.
To us, this one is like a good coach going back though the fundamentals of a sport to make sure your base of knowledge and approach is right. We’ll never tire of seeing engines get worked on by capable machinists, and we’ll never tire of picking up little tidbits of information from those who are older, wiser, and more experienced than us.
This video has all of that and the some.
