Class 11 is the nearly stock VW beetle class that SCORE runs in Baja and it is without a doubt the most difficult class to finish in each and every year. Any racer in Mexico knows that these basically stock cars that have only a slight lift and slightly larger tires are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to making it through the epic terrain that is usually seen on the BAJA 1000 or 500. We’ve personally seen these little bastards tearing across the desert and they are fun to watch but make you cringe constantly because they are just so brutal. Without all the epic suspension you see in the other classes, these thing do as much bouncing as anything else. So when we saw that Blake Wilkey, a dude known for turbo ls powered long travel suspension bugs, was going to build a Class 11 we thought he must have slipped a cog on the old belt drive. Maybe he did, and maybe he did. Watch the videos below and let us know what you think.
