There are a few different schools of thought on how to stop a runaway diesel engine, but once one is on a tear like that it does not want to stop for anything. We’ve seen different ways of snuffing them out by depriving them of air, and others that involved pulling all fuel from them. Either way damage can occur and some of the other creative ways to stop one are sure to end with engine parts or body parts harmed. But this video right here is from a guy who is doing the Mythbusting for us and shows several ways to stop one. With that said, the end result is ultimately blowing one up!
