Reassembly Video: Check Out This Little Honda Trail 70 Engine Assembly – Cool Little Engine!

On a day where we highlighted a video featuring a 900hp naturally aspirated NASCAR small block based build, it makes total sense to also look into the rebuild of a Honda Trail 70 engine, right? Right. This Hagerty project is a good one. The complete restoration of a vintage Honda Trail 70 has been going on for a little while now and it’s time for the good stuff, reassembly. The chassis has been all restored, painted, and returned to new and now is the time to do the same thing with the little engine.

Small engines are really fun. No they do not have the beastly horsepower of their larger, multi-cylinder cousins, but they do have all the same elements and provide a great training ground for anyone who loves all the various ways people have designed power plants to power vehicles great and small. You may have no interest in Honda Trail 70 bikes but we’re betting you have an interest in seeing engines, specifically engines you’ve not seen the guts of before, get put back together.

This is a little table top wonder of engineering that is wonderfully designed and was produced in incredible volume across the globe for years and years on end. Neat to see this one going back together. Hey, if you have one of these engines that you want to restore, this video is perfection!

Really like your videos BUT STOP WEARING A RING WHEN WORKING IN THE SHOP!!! You are teaching beginners BAD HABITS. Wearing of a ring while working is a firing offense in some shops.
