There are few vehicle nameplates that we associate more with WWII than Jeep and Power Wagon. There’s something just totally awesome about these tough as nails trucks that wee built to meet the needs of fighting men all over the world and then became one of the toughest and most revered names in consumer trucks that the automotive industry has ever known. Power Wagons were not about sexy style, amenities, or flashy performance. They were about strength, toughness, the ability to slog through anything, and the adaptability for any job you could dream up. The Power Wagon was the Jeep’s older more burly brother in the world and this video touches on that.
While we cannot place the year on this thing we’re going with early 1950s because of how WWII heavy it is. That calamity and the ensuing fight defined this country for more than half a century. Things were invented, they were created, the were refined, and they were sent out to give our guys an advantage over the enemy. Power Wagon was one of those things. The Power Wagon trucks of today are more comfortable and in many ways more capable these this old iron but you’ll never sell us on them being any cooler.
You’ll dig this video and the time in the USA that it represents. Neat!
