There was a time when an in-car camera looked like something from the Apollo space program. Huge, bulky units that racers almost had to be forced at gunpoint to have in their vehicles. Now it is the complete opposite. The cameras are tiny, the things they can do are incredible, and racers relish the chance to get some camera time for themselves and their sponsors.
Case in point? Check out this absolutely mind blowing video that puts us in the cab of the Nitto Tire/Monster Energy Ultra 4 truck that Campbell drives as he hauls around California’s Glen Helen Raceway. You can literally see whatever view you want here and look at everything from the stuff Campbell is passing to him working the tiller in the crazy Ultra4 truck.
The driving skills and acumen that off road racers have is pretty incredible and you can see how calm and composed Campbell as his truck rips around the course, soaking up every bump, chuck hole, and whoop-de-doo the Earth throws at it.
From the technology in the camera to the technology in the truck, there is something for everyone to love here.
