Listen, I know that I have a problem. I should be stalking eBay and getting the flop sweats for big block Chevelles, worked up first gen Camaros, and wild hot rods with huge motors and way more power than chassis. I do that lots but even the best of those type finds don’t get my crank turning as hard as stuff like this absolutely spectacular 1964 Ford F-250 truck. From the nondescript tan color, to the factory four wheel drive, touched up but factory spec interior, one owner history, mondo brush guard on the front, and the original 292 engine, this is honestly as perfect as they come (in my eyes, anyway). Ford only made about 2,300 of these trucks in 1964 and as we all know, trucks don’t lead the easiest of lives nor do owners feel compelled to keep them in perfect shape like a muscle or pony car. Truth be told, this truck probably wouldn’t have garnered a second look from anyone back then, except perhaps a truck geek like me living at the time.
The only real changes to the truck (according to the seller) are the new tires (which look great being a little wider and taller than the stockers but not crazy looking), the reupholstered bench seat, a replacement factory exhaust system, fresh Bengal Tan paint, and a new headliner. This was owned by one family in Wyoming since new and the truck comes with the original window sticker. The bed has also had a spray-on style bed liner added. As nice as the truck is from the top, from the bottom it is even more spectacular. The frame looks clean, all the mechanical components look to be in fantastic shape, etc. Honestly, if I had the scratch I would fly in, buy this, and cruise it home.
I could say more, but why? I am sure there are those of you out there shaking your heads about a stock old pickup truck here on the front page of BangShift and I get that but you have to appreciate things as they are and this truck is such a cool look back at what a working truck was back in 1964 I couldn’t help but share it.
