While Greg Rourke wants Chad and Daphne to buy a Kenworth, I truly have their best interest in mind with this 1975 International Harvester Travelall. Why? Basically because it is the nicest one on the planet. Go ahead and prove me wrong on that! The truck was repainted recently but other than that it is a 100% survivor. The interior, engine chassis, and everything else are apparently as delivered from the factory. This comes from the seller’s ad, of course. The truck was owned by a mechanic who kept it in a climate controlled shop and basically used it for family vacations. No winters, no crappy weather, no being beaten up by the elements for years. Perhaps the most pampered one of all time as well?

You can tell that someone with some mechanical brains optioned this baby. Why? Big motor. The 392 was the top of the power food chain for International gas engines and while it is insanely heavy and does not make a ton of power, it is as strong as a granite block and will never, ever break. 3.73 gear ratio. This was either because the owner new trussing the engine up with some gear would be a good idea or towing was going to be part of the program. Air conditiong, custom interior, roof rack, dash clock(!), electric rear window, and more.

While there was no such thing as a “luxury SUV” it was only because the term had not been invented yet. This was as close as one could get to that modern standard 40+ years ago. This had to have been a pretty expensive truck when it was new but it was worth every penny.
