(Photos by David Whealon) – Every type of motorsport becomes more fun to watch at night. This includes pulling and the photos from David Whealon at the Mule City 300 below totally prove it. The screaming engines, the flying dirt, the columns of soot, and the cold beer are all that much better under dark skies. There must be something primal about it because we cannot explain the scene or people’s reaction to it.

This is a cool gallery because we have the trucks, and multiple types of tractors. From four wheel drive jobs with upturned stacks to tractors with the front wheels a few feet in the air, this is fun stuff. It is weird how similar tractor pulling is to drag racing with its emphasis on horsepower, weight transfer, and brutal performance numbers. Must be why we like it so much!
