Spinning An Eaton M112 Supercharger With A Shop Vac Is Kind Of Awesome

Spinning An Eaton M112 Supercharger With A Shop Vac Is Kind Of Awesome

This is a good video for a holiday. It is largely pointless, doesn’t rally prove anything, but at the same time it is entertaining in the gearhead fashion that we love. What is it? Basically it is a guy showing us how to turn an Eaton M112 blower with a shop vac. Being that the thing is really not spinning all that fast, we’re not sure what the goal of this exercise is but we can see the rotors spinning and that’s kind of fun. It is also kind of fun to see how the supercharger’s bypass valve works and the results of it being opened and closed.

If you were actually going to test this blower for airflow and stuff, you’d need a ton more horsepower than the shop vac can provide but this is kind of a cool party trick, right? The Eaton M112 blower was found on LOTS of supercharged Fords over the years. From Lightnings to Terminator Mustangs, this little breadbox of a supercharger force fed the mills that did strong work for the Ford brand in the early 2000s.

So yes, if someone walks into the room in the next couple of minutes you’ll basically have to tell them that you are watching a video of a spinny thing made to spin with a shop vac on some guy’s living room floor. Award wining stuff, guys.

Press play to see an Eaton M112 blower spun with a shop vac – Why? Because fun
