This Chrysler 318 Powered 1969 Muskeg Amphibian Is A 32mph Bath Tub

What is a 1969 Muskeg Amphibian? Is it something that looks like the A-Team built it? Yes. Is it something capable of going over 30mph? Yes. Is it something powered by a Chrysler 318ci small block? Indeed. It is all of those things and apparently more although we cannot scare up one more spec of information about it than what is being told to us in the ad! Our Google skills are pretty strong and other than this one we’re struggling to find about more about the machines that are half tank, half boat, and all awesome.

The seller of this vehicle claims that it was bought by the state of Ohio in 1969 to be used for wildlife work in areas where trucks and other vehicles could not get. While the seller claims that the vehicle is not good for deep water we’re thinking that the cleated tracks would probably do a decent job paddling the machine along. A set of oars may be needed for backup if you try that and oh, don’t take our word for it.

We dig the fact that there is a pretty hefty looking winch on the back end of the Muskeg and that the engine is a tried and true 318ci small block V8. While likely not a performance enhanced version, we’re guessing that it sounds pretty good out of that short exhaust stack. If the wind is moving correctly you ay be choked out quick because it seems that exhaust stack is about the same height as the person who would be sitting in front of it.

Controlled with sticks and packing a manual transmission the Muskeg looks like the type of vehicle that it would be really fun to try and get stuck. We’d have a blast with this thing!

Thanks for the tip Stiney!
