This Front End Loader And Backhoe Equipped Unimog Is Fully Functional, For Sale, And There is Video Of It Working

While I often joke about stuff that I am dreaming about owning at some point in my life, this is totally for real. My absolute pinnacle dream truck is for sale on eBay right now and the seller even included video of the magical machine working. The basis of this awesome is a Unimog and the reason I want this specific model is the fact that it has a front end loader bucket jutting out the front and a backhoe that folds out of the back. This is literally a massive Swiss Army Knife on wheels! It is also the fantasy vehicle of every nine year old boy on Earth so it does makes sense for me to be lusting after it. We have beaten the history of the Unimog to death but the short and sweet version is that the vehicle was developed to serve as both an agricultural implement and a way for the farmer to get his stuff to market. As time went on, capability was expanded, the uses mushroomed into the military realm, and the attachments, variants skyrocketed.

If you can believe it, this version of the ‘mog was actually built by Freightliner trucks. It is essentially a 419 Unimog but beefed up to handle the extra working loads of a front end loader and backhoe. Built in 1987 and overhauled about 10 years ago the truck has literally 400 miles on all the freshened parts. Powered by a 110hp Mercedes diesel engine you may be wondering how it gets around. The 16 speed transmission helps, the multiple available transfer case may help, and if someone is tailgating you, simply swat them away like a flea with your backhoe of win.

This truck looks to be in spectacular condition and the video below shows the seller driving the truck, operating the loader, using the backhoe and testing out the auxiliary hydraulic lines. The true measure of any working truck comes down to versatility and there are none more versatile than Unimogs. From running jack hammers and other heavy tools to cutting grass and doing other work keeps the Unimog at the top of my list of awesome things I will someday own. This truck is literally incredible.

Would have been a great addition to BS headquarters. Just call “dig safe” before you start trenching. 🙂
Drove a 401 many years ago…great off road, but so slow on the road.

You could buy a JCB for a lot less money – but where would be the fun in that?

SEE Trucks are cool, but the Engineers used to roll them all the time. I also noticed they would come out to fill our fox holes, but wouldn’t be there to dig them…Infantry problems.
